OVERVIEW

Perhaps one of the most common compliments heard from our clients is our stringent attention to detail that is exacerbated by our going above and beyond to ensure our attorneys receive excellence of work.

Fortis was employed with the sole responsibility of providing a written affidavit that a nurse violated standards of care, so a complaint could be filed.

Approach

While provided the full medical record, we were asked to comment only on the single paged pre-hospital nursing documentation. Furthermore, we were not asked to assess the case for merit as another medical professional already assured causation. Fortis completed the assignment and on our own time and expense reviewed the remaining documentation. In our review, while the nurse was grossly negligent, we noted the negligence could not be connected to the damages. Respectfully, we challenged the attorney.

Result

Resultantly, the attorney dropped the case and thanked us for the valuable time and monies we saved.

OVERVIEW

Fortis Medical Consultants seeks to be the pioneering example for all that is excellent in legal nurse consulting.

Accomplishing this goal means implementing our vision and mission to direct the perspectives from which research questions are asked, cases investigated, and evidence is collected, analyzed, and interpreted. Fortis was hired to provide medical and forensic guidance in a criminal case.

Approach

Our team took the time to research and analyze the fact patterns along with any prominence the court had placed on specific facts in previous case law. Our end product was a legal memorandum that included medical and forensic guidance based in case law that increased the likelihood that all of the elements of proof required to substantiate a verdict in their client’s favor were evident.

Result

The attorney’s client received a favorable verdict and attorney saved valuable time and resources that would have otherwise been spent on case law research.
