OVERVIEW

Jenny Cameron RN, BSN earned her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix. Jenny brings 18 years of clinical nursing experience. She started her career in Cardiovascular Intensive Care where her astute ability to diagnose, treat, and manage conditions that affect the complex cardiovascular system quickly became recognized resulting her being assigned as Charge Nurse and offered various teaching roles within the organization ensuring nursing staff were meeting and exceeding standards of care.

Expertise

She is considered an expert in telemetry care and cardiac rhythm recognition. She then added to her career by moving to the Emergency Department where she specialized in pediatric, adult, and geriatric emergency and trauma care. Jenny was an Emergency Department new employee preceptor, Clinical Council Chair, and earned certifications in CALS, BLS, ACLS, ENPC, and PALS. She is a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. Additionally, Jenny was both a developer and instructor for the Nitrous Oxide program throughout the Allina Health facilities.  For the past five years

Experience

Jenny has worked as a staff nurse in the Interventional Radiology Department, Cardiac Stress Testing Department, and on the PICC line placement team at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, Minnesota. She has extensive background and is considered highly knowledgeable in the field of intravenous access devices (e.g. Peripheral IV, PICC, Midlines, Central Lines), their indications for use, common errors, documentation, and standards of care.  She is well versed in the use and application of ultra sound guided imagery for catheter placement and is one of the lead instructors for nurses.  

Jenny is currently employed part time and able to meet the timely needs of clients. She is presently enrolled at the Brighton College Paralegal Institute where she is working towards her Legal Nurse Consulting Certification where-by she hopes to help advance the mission and vision of Fortis Medical Consultants. 

Volunteer Work

Jenny enjoys volunteering for the Play for Patrick Foundation where she uses her clinical nursing skills to screen young athletes for heart defects. She is also the Chair for the Color Run Committee at Greenleaf Elementary School where she shares her passion for running with students and families in the community.
